My name is Hilla Shavit and I am an art therapist, certified with an advanced diploma by the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute (VATI). I practice in a home-based clinic in Coquitlam, and work with clients of all ages in both English and Hebrew.
I received a BFA with honours from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and went on to obtain a master's degree from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. After graduating, I worked in art and design in New York, Tel Aviv, and Vancouver. I have been living and working in Metro Vancouver since 2005.
While homeschooling my youngest, I had the opportunity to become an art teacher and mentor in two blended homeschool programs. While there, I gained experience working with special-needs and gifted students, and discovered my passion for supporting children and youth.
In addition to being a practicing art therapist, I am an artisan jewelry designer and visual artist.
This is Kiwi, my puppy who is a Therapy-Dog-in-training. Kiwi loves people and is hypoallergenic. She can be invited into our sessions as a fluffy live pillow, when requested.
